EVANSTON – also affectionately referred to as Hevanston, located along the shores of Lake Michigan. It is home to Northwestern University, Chicago’s Big Ten team, known for its research endeavors, Arts & Humanities, Journalism, and the Kellogg School of Management, to name a few programs. Evanston has a diverse housing stock, ranging from ranches to split levels to bungalows, to Victorians, to architecturally significant homes, some designed by well-known architects associated with the development of the town. Parks are abundant throughout the town. Public transportation includes the EL (elevated train) with its CTA stations, the Metra commuter train with three stops in Evanston, and CTA bus lines.
